Professional Estimates That Close Deals Faster

Present polished estimates on-site and convert approvals into jobs with one tap.

BlueOps Estimates empowers field service companies to create polished, accurate proposals that win more business. Technicians build estimates on-site using pre-configured price books that include your standard labor rates, material costs with markup, and flat-rate service packages, eliminating guesswork and ensuring consistent pricing across your entire team. The estimate builder supports good-better-best option presentation, allowing customers to choose from tiered service levels that increase your average ticket value. Customers receive estimates via email or text with a secure link to review itemized details, ask questions, and approve electronically with a digital signature. Approved estimates convert to scheduled jobs with a single click, carrying all line items, notes, and customer information forward without re-entry. Estimate tracking dashboards show pipeline value, conversion rates, and aging estimates that need follow-up, giving sales managers visibility into revenue forecasts and individual technician sales performance.

How It Works

The estimating process begins when a technician or sales representative identifies an opportunity, either during an existing service call or at a dedicated sales appointment. The technician opens the estimate builder on their mobile device or the office staff uses the desktop interface. They select a customer from the existing database or create a new customer record. The estimate is built by selecting items from your price book, which contains pre-configured products, services, and assemblies with descriptions, costs, and recommended retail pricing. Assemblies group related items, such as a complete water heater replacement that bundles the unit, installation labor, old unit disposal, and permit fees, into a single selectable package. The good-better-best builder lets the technician create up to three tiered options from the price book, each with a descriptive summary of what is included. Photos taken during the site assessment can be embedded in the estimate to visually document the work that is being proposed. Before sending, the technician can adjust quantities, apply discounts, add custom notes, and preview the formatted estimate as the customer will see it. The estimate is then delivered to the customer via email, SMS, or both. The customer opens a branded proposal page where they can review each option, view embedded photos, read terms and conditions, and approve their selected option with an electronic signature. Upon approval, BlueOps creates a new job with all estimate details carried forward, adds it to the scheduling queue, and notifies the assigned team. If the estimate is not approved within your configured window, automated follow-up messages encourage the customer to revisit the proposal.

Business Benefits

1

Increase Close Rates

Professional, on-site estimates with tiered options convert at significantly higher rates than delayed, text-only proposals because they engage the customer while motivation is highest and present clear value differentiation.

2

Grow Average Ticket Value

Good-better-best option presentation consistently drives customers toward mid-tier and premium options, increasing average ticket value by fifteen to thirty percent without high-pressure sales tactics.

3

Ensure Pricing Consistency

A centralized price book ensures every technician quotes the same rates for the same work, eliminating the margin erosion that occurs when experienced technicians underbid to close deals.

Why It Matters

Every estimate that leaves your company is a reflection of your brand and a prediction of your profitability. Sloppy, inconsistent, or delayed estimates cost field service companies in two ways: they lose winnable deals to competitors who present better proposals, and they win deals at margins that do not sustain the business. BlueOps Estimates addresses both problems by standardizing pricing through a centralized price book and accelerating delivery through on-site creation tools. The strategic value of good-better-best option presentation cannot be overstated. Research across service industries consistently shows that when customers are presented with three options, the majority select the middle or premium tier, whereas a single-option estimate becomes a binary accept-or-reject decision. This simple change in presentation methodology can increase annual revenue by hundreds of thousands of dollars for a mid-sized contractor without any increase in lead volume.
